School Liaison Visit

Staff can do virtual or in-person classroom visits to conduct book talks, library services discussions, and STEM activities (Ozobots, 3D printing pens, and STEM Kits). To arrange a visit or answer questions, contact our Youth and Teen Services Manager, Becky, via email at roberhauser[at]caryarealibrary.info or by phone at 847-639-4210 x 227.

Book Reserve

With 1 business day’s notice, we will pull books on a requested subject matter. We can also get books sent to our library from other libraries if we don’t own them. Make a book reservation request.

Library Cards

Teachers (and students) are eligible for a CAPL card if they live within our District and don’t already have a card. If you don’t live in our District you can register your home library card at our Service Center to checkout books, DVDs, CDs, and other materials. It is also likely that your home library has eMaterials and databases similar to the ones we offer.

Library Programs

We host a variety of programs for children of all ages to help students beyond the classroom.

Library of Things

We offer a collection of non-traditional materials for checkout to CAPL cardholders age 18+ (due to safety concerns and/or replacement cost of the item). The collection includes tech equipment, STEM Kits, crafting tools, and more.

Read-alongs

We offer devices and materials for read-along, the intersection of books and audio which can help children learn to and enjoy reading.

Technology

We offer Wifi, public computers, printing, and other services.

Databases

Access our databases for research with your CAPL card.

eMaterials for Kids

Download and/or stream eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, music, and videos with your CAPL card.
